Use of Identifying Numbers. In the event an order for a funds transfer or a payment through Online Banking identifies a payee, payee’s bank or intermediary bank inconsistently by name and an identifying number (such as account number, ABA routing number or universal identification number), payment may be made by the intermediary or payee bank on the basis of the identifying number, even if the identifying number identifies a person or entity different from the named payee in your funds transfer or payment order and your obligation to pay the payment order shall not be excused by your error. We will rely on the identifying number as proper identification of a payee. Consumer Accounts. Consumers accessing Consumer Accounts using Online Banking or Mobile Banking.
