Upon formal recommendation of the review committee and with the written consent of the probationer, the appointing authority may extend the probationer’s probationary period for one, two, or three quarters, excluding summer quarter, beyond the maximum probationary period, in accordance with RCW 28B.50.850. Notice of such extension shall be made in accordance with the time limits established in (a) above.
