Upgrading Positions. When an employee, through education, becomes qualified for a higher position within his/her specialty, the Employer shall have the right to convert, with the Union’s agreement, that employee’s position to the appropriate higher position without posting. The Employer will notify the Union of such conversions following the procedures of paragraph 2.1.
Upgrading Positions. (Professional/Technical Unit only) – When an employee in the bargaining unit, through further education, becomes qualified for a position which is promotional from the employee’s then current position, and staffing patterns justify creating the position, then the Employer shall have the right to convert the employee to the new position without posting. The Employer will notify the Union of such promotional conversions.
