Up to Clause Samples

The "Up to" clause sets a maximum limit or cap on a particular obligation, quantity, or amount specified in a contract. In practice, this means that a party is only required to perform, deliver, or pay up to the stated maximum, but not beyond it; for example, a supplier may agree to provide up to 1,000 units of a product, or a party may be liable for damages up to a certain dollar amount. This clause is used to clearly define the boundaries of responsibility or performance, thereby preventing overextension and managing risk for the parties involved.
