Common use of Underlying Fund Expenses Clause in Contracts

Underlying Fund Expenses. Variable Investment Options invest in corresponding Underlying Funds. Those Underlying Funds charge fees that are in addition to the fees and charges under this Contract. Accordingly, the Variable Investment Options of the SPL incur these expenses as they invest in the Underlying Funds. These fees affect the market value of the Variable Investment Options, but are not charges directly imposed under this Contract.
