Common use of Underground Utilities Clause in Contracts

Underground Utilities. Any required ground digging or subsurface work must be done in accordance with Chapter 556, Florida Statutes. It will be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to have all underground utilities located before any work may begin. This can be done by contacting Sunshine State One Call. They may be reached by calling 1-800-432-4770. The repairs of any damaged underground utilities as a result of the work being performed by the CONTRACTOR will be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR shall contact the proper utility company immediately to expedite the repairs, if damage has occurred. The COUNTY must also be notified by telephone at the earliest opportunity and must be followed up with a written explanation of the incident within two (2) calendar days.
