Underground Robot Sample Clauses

Underground Robot. BADGER underground robot is composed by a series of modules containing systems with different functionalities. Then, each module is one link of the robot. Consecutive modules are connected by one joint with two main functionalities: propulsion and steering. This hardware architecture is not closed and can be extended adding more modules depending on the necessities. Figure 1 presents the default design with the minimum number of modules required. This system is composed by four modules and three joints. From left to right, we can find the drilling head which is the main module of the system. The next two are service modules containing electronics, clamping systems, control units, etc. The last module is the printing unit for producing a 3D printed pipe. The following sections describe the requirements and design of each module and joint, including all subsystems necessary for BADGER operation.
