TREASURE TROVE Clause Samples

The Treasure Trove clause defines how ownership and rights to valuable items or artifacts discovered on a property are handled. Typically, this clause specifies whether such found items belong to the property owner, the finder, or are subject to specific reporting or sharing requirements. For example, if a tenant or contractor uncovers coins, jewelry, or historical artifacts during their use or work on the premises, the clause will clarify who is entitled to keep or claim these items. Its core practical function is to prevent disputes and ensure clarity regarding the allocation of unexpected valuable discoveries on the property.
