Common use of Transfer/Reassignment Clause in Contracts

Transfer/Reassignment. A transfer/reassignment refers to any action by the Employer which results in the movement of a Unit Member from the position held immediately preceding such action to a position under a different Immediate Supervisor. A transfer/reassignment may be Unit Member initiated (voluntary) or employer initiated (involuntary). a. Voluntary transfer/reassignment – Initiated by either the Employee or the Employer with the consent of the Employee. b. Involuntary transfer/reassignment – Initiated by the Employer without the consent of the Employee.
