Time Off Provision. A public employer must afford reasonable time off to elected officers or appointed representatives of the Exclusive Representative for the purposes of conducting the duties of the Exclusive Representative and must upon request provide for leaves of absence to elected or appointed officials of the Exclusive Representative. In instances of mediation between the parties that occur during regular school hours, the School District shall not be required to grant time off at the same time for more than two

Bereavement Leave will not be charged against sick leave, vacation, or holiday time. If the employee needs additional time off due to the death of the immediate family member, the employee may request such additional time off, using accrued vacation leave. Approval of such request for time off shall be at the sole and exclusive discretion of the Police Chief or designee.
