Time Off for Association Activities. Local Association representatives shall be allowed time off without pay for legitimate Association business such as Association meetings and conventions, provided such representatives give reasonable notice to their immediate supervisor of such request for absence. Such time off shall be allowed if it does not substantially interfere with the operating needs of the University. The member may utilize accumulated vacation days in lieu of taking time off without pay. Any officer of the Association, shall be allowed time off with pay for contract negotiations or meetings attended by both the Association and University officials.
Time Off for Association Activities. 15 The Department may grant officers of the Association time off 16 with pay from their regularly assigned duties to attend seminars, 17 handle grievances, or other such meetings related to labor relations 18 matters on reasonable notice to the General Manager or designee. 19 The notice must include the time of such meetings and names and 20 Association position held of the attending unit members. Time Off for Association Activities. 5.1 The Board agrees to grant the necessary time off without discrimination, without loss of seniority rights, and without pay to any employee who is designated by the Association to attend a labor convention or to serve in any capacity on other official Association business provided a two (2) week written notice is given to the Board by the Association specifying the length of time off for Association activities which in no case shall exceed five (5) working days per year. Due consideration shall be given to the number of employees affected in order that there shall be no disruption of the Board’s operations due to lack of available employees.
Time Off for Association Activities. Section 1: Absence: The Employer agrees to grant the necessary and reasonable time off, without discrimination or loss of seniority rights and without pay, to any employee designated by the Association to attend a labor convention or serve in any capacity on other official Association business, provided forty-eight (48) hours written notice is given to the Employer by the Association specifying length of time off. The Association agrees that, in making its request for time off for Association activities, due consideration shall be given to the number of employees affected in order that there shall be no disruption of the Employer's operations due to lack of available employees.

The CITY agrees to grant the necessary and reasonable time off, without discrimination or loss of rights and without pay, to not more than eleven (11) employees at any one time designated by the ASSOCIATION to attend an ASSOCIATION convention or serve in any capacity on other official ASSOCIATION business. Total time off under this section shall not exceed eleven (11) work days per year for all members of the bargaining unit. One week's notice will be given the CITY if at all possible. It is mutually agreed that such time off shall not be granted if it shall cause any employee to work overtime as a result or if it shall cause shift strength to fall below the designated level. 2. The petitioner and two (2) ASSOCIATION representatives employed by the CITY will be allowed to attend grievance and disciplinary hearings without loss of pay. 3. The CITY agrees to grant time off, without loss of pay, to not more than four (4) employees at any one time to attend negotiation meetings with the CITY provided such employees are members of the negotiating team and it does not result in shift strength falling below the designated level. 4. Regular once a month Executive Board meetings may be attended by Board members during their regular duty hours with pay under the following conditions: a. They shall receive permission from their commanding officer before leaving the job to attend the meeting. They will be permitted to attend provided their services are not needed at that time. b. It is understood and agreed they may be called out of the meeting and they will be responsive to duty assignment, if needed. 5. A maximum of four (4) ASSOCIATION membership meetings held away from the Police Department may be attended each year by Executive Board members during their regular duty hours with pay provided the following conditions are met: a. The employee seeks permission from his/her commanding officer to attend the meeting. The commanding officer will release the employee provided his/her services are not needed at that time and his/her absence will not drop shift strength below the designated level. b. The employee informs his/her commanding officer where he/she will be meeting and how he/she can be reached. It is understood that the employee may be called out of the meeting and will be responsive to duty assignment if needed. c.
