TESTING OBJECTIVES. Section 1 A drug is defined as any substance which may impair mental or motor function, including, but not limited to, illegal drugs, controlled substances, designer drugs, synthetic drugs and look-alike drugs. Section 2 The use of drugs which are lawfully obtained and properly used shall be permitted provided their use does not interfere with the individual's proper and safe work performance. Section 3 The District will be responsible for all costs incurred for testing and evaluation required by this Policy. Section 4 The District will provide training of no less than one (1) hour duration by an entity agreed to by the Union of its supervisors in recognizing the signs and symptoms of drug abuse, and an additional one (1) hour of training in recognizing the signs and symptoms of alcohol abuse.
