Common use of Teaching Loads Clause in Contracts

Teaching Loads. Full-time faculty with the title “Clinical Instructor” shall normally have a teaching load of 18 course credit hours (without regard to type of course) per academic year. Full-time clinical faculty in the progressive ranks of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, and Clinical Professor shall have a baseline teaching load of 16 course credit hours per year; however, no faculty member shall be assigned more than 4 credit hours of clinical instruction per semester unless by mutual agreement. Individual faculty may negotiate with the Xxxx teaching loads less than 16 course credit hours by using grant funds to buy out their time or by providing other valuable service to the College of Nursing (such as Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program or Clinical Coordinator).
