System Studies and Grid Stability Analyses Sample Clauses
The 'System Studies and Grid Stability Analyses' clause defines the requirement for conducting technical assessments to evaluate the impact of a project or facility on the electrical grid's stability and performance. Typically, this involves performing simulations and analyses to determine whether the integration of new equipment, such as a power plant or large load, will affect voltage, frequency, or overall grid reliability. By mandating these studies, the clause ensures that any new connection or modification does not compromise the safe and stable operation of the grid, thereby preventing disruptions and maintaining system integrity.
System Studies and Grid Stability Analyses. The CAISO, in coordination with Participating TOs, shall perform system operating studies or grid stability analyses to evaluate forecasted changes in grid conditions that could affect its ability to ensure compliance with the Applicable Reliability Criteria. The results and reports from such studies shall be exchanged between the CAISO and the Participating TOs. Study results and conclusions shall generally be assessed annually, and shall be updated as necessary, based on changing grid and local area conditions.
