Surplus Staff. In the normal course, a vacancy arising in an existing location outside of Dublin or a newly decentralised office will first be offered to staff in an organisation within the defined radius as set out at paragraph 6.3.15 which has been identified as having surplus staff having regard to skills and competencies and /or qualifications as appropriate in the position in which the vacancy arises.
Surplus Staff. All affected staff not placed by Reconfirmation or Redeployment as described in 2(ii) above of this Appendix are surplus from the date of notification of disestablishment of the position in writing from the employer.

Severance will be effective immediately on the agreement being reached and no further notice shall be given nor required. The employee in these circumstances shall receive a redundancy payment as per Clause 3.d of this Appendix. All affected staff not placed by Reconfirmation or Redeployment as described in Section 2 above of this Appendix are surplus from the date of notification of disestablishment of the position in writing from the employer.
Surplus Staff. 10.4.1 When, as a result of the substantial restructuring of the whole, or any parts, of the employer's operations, either due to the re-organisation, review of work method, change in plant (or like cause), the employer requires a reduction in the number of employees, or, employees can no longer be employed in their current position, at their current band or work location (i.e. the terms of appointment to their present position), then the options in clause 10.5 below shall be invoked and decided on a case by case basis in accordance with this clause.

L23.16 Using the projected number of staff assigned to the school, the Principal will, on or before April 30, identify by seniority, according to the Seniority List, those Members who are surplus to the staff requirements of the school and notify, in writing, those Members who are surplus to their school, with a copy to the Union.

After the District determines potential surplus staffing for a building or program, the principal/program manager shall consult with the employees in that building/program to determine whether anyone is interested in a transfer as surplus staff. Though the District shall consider any such interest, the decision as to who will be designated as a surplus employee belongs to the District. Consultation during summer months when school is not in session will be by e- mail notification to employees of the school/program in order for any employee to express interest in a transfer as surplus staff.

The position will be offered to the most senior officer from among the applications received by the PAS.
