Surplus Interconnection Service Clause Samples

The Surplus Interconnection Service clause defines the terms under which a party may utilize any unused or excess capacity in an existing interconnection facility. In practice, this clause allows a generator or other entity to connect additional energy resources to the grid using the surplus capacity of an already established interconnection, without requiring a new, separate interconnection agreement. This arrangement streamlines the process for expanding grid access, reduces costs, and maximizes the use of existing infrastructure, thereby addressing the need for efficient and flexible grid integration of new energy resources.
