They can help states and districts measure the effectiveness of teachers at various points in their careers, identify highly skilled teachers, offer specific recommendations to improve teaching, inform professional development, and demonstrate accountability for student achievement. State policymakers should treat teacher evaluations as an integrated component of a comprehensive strategy to improve overall teaching quality.

  • Evaluation Procedures 7.2.1 Evaluation procedures designed to fairly and adequately assess performance of full- time faculty employees shall be established and reviewed annually by the Vice President, after consultation with appropriate faculty groups at divisional/departmental meetings for their recommendations.

Notification will be given to a probationary or trial service employee whose work performance is determined to be unsatisfactory.
