Student Progress. The Board and the Association recognize that the ability of students to progress and mature academically is a combined result of school, home, economic and social environment. Teachers shall be held accountable for providing the opportunity for academic achievement of the students in the classroom. The Board and the Association recognize that the regular attendance by a teacher is important for the continuous instruction of students. A teacher’s abuse of sick leave or other leaves such as excessive tardiness or absence, as evidenced by a pattern of behavior, shall be handled as a disciplinary matter.
