Structural Building Components. Unless indicated on the Contract Documents, do not cut or modify any structural building component (e.g. column, beam, floor slab) without prior approval of the Project structural engineer. If an existing structural component is accidentally cut, the remedial design work shall be by a professional structural engineer licensed in the State of Texas. The Contractor is responsible for engaging the structural engineer and for payment of all design fees. The structural engineer shall be acceptable to the ODR and all structural designs shall be submitted to the ODR for review and approval.
