STEPCHILD. In the case of death in the “family,” a permanent employee may be granted a leave of absence with pay up to four (4) calendar days by the department director. “Family” is defined as father- in-law, mother-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, spouse’s grandparent, any other relative living in the same household, and step relations of the family members defined as “family” (i.e. step brother).
