STEM specific Outreach. 3.3.1 Dedicated teams of staff in the Faculty of Engineering Environment and Computing and the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences deliver a programme of outreach activities with a specific focus on the STEM subjects. Through adopting a long‐term approach to outreach, expansion of activities is being tailored to younger students. This work has the aim of increasing the number of students taking STEM subjects post‐16, increasing the number of students progressing to STEM degrees, and widening participation in STEM from the under‐represented groups in Higher Education. Many of these activities are delivered in collaboration with external agencies such as the Nuffield Foundation, the British Science Association and Imagineering. Typical activities are outlined below.
