Staff Development During Preparation Time. ‌ An employee who is scheduled to use their normal preparation time for participation in staff development trainings or school improvement activities may request that the building principal designate additional preparation time. If no such time can be agreed to in advance of the activity, the principal shall either reschedule the activity to a time other than the preparation period or the employee shall be compensated for the time missed at the employee’s per diem hourly rate.
