Staff Development Activities. 15.4.1 At the discretion of the first-level supervisor not in the unit the unit member may be granted release time or the workday may be adjusted to accommodate unit members to attend approved staff development activities. Unit members may contact the manager immediately above the supervisor for assistance if they believe they have been unduly denied access to the staff development program. In the event such a contact is made, the manager immediately above the supervisor shall within thirty (30) working days hold a follow-up meeting with the unit member. Any adjustment in the workday for the purpose of staff development shall not be deemed as overtime.
