SPECIAL STUDIES PROGRAM. (a) An employee will be entitled to apply to undertake a Special Studies Program (SSP) provided that it will commence no sooner than three years after entry on duty. The period of three years may be reduced if prior service at another university has been recognised for this purpose. (b) The University will recognise prior continuous paid service with other Australian higher education institutions as qualifying service when considering applications for SSP. Provided that if an employee has taken a period of time on SSP at another university, that period will be considered. (c) Eligibility for recognition of prior service with another University will be dependent upon continuity of employment between the other University and UNSW. (d) If there is not more than two months between the cessation of employment with another university and commencement with UNSW, continuity will be deemed not to have been broken, but the period between cessation and commencement will not be taken into account in determining length of service for the purposes of this clause.
