Common use of Spatial Data Clause in Contracts

Spatial Data. For data sets containing spatial data (coordinates, geometries) we first checked if the data is available as WFS (OGC, 2015). This is due to the fact that WFS (Web Feature Service) is a widely used open OGC-standard, and it gives developer more possibilities than a single file- based-format. But for spatial data not available as WFS, next formats to check were Shapefile and CSV. Shapefile itself is a binary format, but having an open specification it has become de facto standard file format in GIS. Spatial data makes it possible to calculate indicators also for geographically restricted areas such as city districts.
