.02) The Shift Leader function involves assigned responsibility for two or more employees. A Shift Leader is not a supervisor, but is involved mainly in passing supervisor’s instructions to members of work group, explaining new projects and assignments and normally includes other duties as follows:
i) Establishing priority as required on allocated daily work assignments.
ii) Showing employees how to do tasks when difficulties arise; checking completeness and accuracy of finished tasks; keeping supervisor informed of departmental activity.
iii) Explaining office routines, work procedures, use of equipment or machinery and safety procedures.
iv) A Shift Leader shall not be responsible for disciplining other employees.
v) An employee assigned the Shift Leader role will receive a premium of 60¢ per hour while performing the role of Shift Leader.

Shift Leader. The Shift Leader role is an expanded set of responsibilities assigned for specific shifts to a Union staff member of an operating unit. The Shift Leader will serve as a representative of management (particularly when management is absent) and will make the necessary operational decisions that come up in the course of the unit’s day-to-day operations. As the Shift Leader role is a position supplement, applications will only be open to current Union staff members of the particular operating unit. Employees shall receive responsibility pay as identified in Article 24.11 in addition to their regular wage for all hours that they serve as a Shift Leader. Implementation and continuance of the Shift Leader role in each of the operating units shall be at the discretion of the Employer.
Shift Leader. The Contractor shall provide an unarmed, uniformed, security trained management employee who shall: (i) be directly responsible for the shift activities during a tour of duty, including but not limited to, scheduling of security officers and response to emergencies; (ii) have experience in operations center console operations, especially those that entail the monitoring of security, safety and engineering systems; and (iii) report to the Chief of Security of GS/OAS in the absence of the on-site Project Manager.
