Server Environment. The Forte development system for a designated server platform. A customer is required to have a separate Server Environment for each different platform used as a server in development or deployment. This Server Environment does not contain support for a database interface; the interface is purchased separately. Server Development License -- Gives the customer the right to use Forte products for development on the designated server machine. This is distinct from the Server Environment (above). A Server Environment must be purchased for each type of environment used for server development and is a one-time charge. A Server Development License must be purchased for the machine where server development will occur. RDBMS Interface -- Support for a designated RDBMS interface. Support for an additional RDBMS interfaces can be purchased separately. This includes scenarios where more than one database type is running on a single server (e.g. a VAX that runs both Sybase and Rdb).
