Senior Associate Faculty. In order to recognize Senior Associate Faculty who provide a significant contribution to our college and to facilitate ongoing professional development:
Senior Associate Faculty. Senior Associate faculty are associate academic employees who provide ongoing support and stability to the College’s instructional programs. Associate faculty who qualify for and receive Senior Associate status in a subject area as defined by the RIF units listed in Article X are granted renewable annual contracts, receiving certain rights and privileges and accepting certain duties and responsibilities as described herein.
Senior Associate Faculty. Senior Associate faculty shall: A. Perform all academic responsibilities of Associate Faulty listed above. B. Perform ongoing evaluation and reflection in the same manner as Tenured Faculty. C. Attend (virtually or in person) and participate in one division or department meeting per quarter. If unable to attend, it is the responsibility of the Senior Associate to contact the Department D. Senior Associate Faculty are encouraged to attend opening week activities. E. Read and respond to college communications (phone, email, etc.) in a timely manner. F. Post and hold one office hour (virtually or in person) per week for each .333 load. G. Meet with the ▇▇▇▇ annually to review professional goals and ensure ongoing support.
Senior Associate Faculty. Senior associate status shall be available for Associate faculty members who have demonstrated successful teaching over a nine quarter review process as described below. The College shall provide Senior Associates the benefits described below.
Senior Associate Faculty. Senior Associate status is awarded to Associate Faculty who meet the standards set forth in this Article. Senior Associates will receive additional compensation per Appendix C and may receive an annual employment contract. Senior Associates with annual contracts perform additional duties not required by non-senior associate faculty, which are detailed in Article 14. Associate Faculty members are eligible to begin the Senior Associate application process after completing at least 0.333 load for each of 3 consecutive quarters, not including summer. The programmatic exceptions to the three (3) consecutive quarters requirement may be brought to the Contract Administration Committee (CAC) for consideration (i.e. Fire Science). The Associate Faculty member must also have completed the Associate Faculty Academy.
Senior Associate Faculty. A Senior Associate Faculty member is an Associate Faculty member who has satisfied the requirements of Article 7.
Senior Associate Faculty. Senior Associate status is awarded to Associate Faculty who meet the standards set forth in this Article. Senior Associate Faculty. Senior Associates receive priority for multi- quarter assignments and course assignments, thereby recognizing the knowledge and experience they contribute to the college. Senior Associates that apply for tenure-track positions at SVC, for which they meet the minimum qualifications, will receive an interview. As an ongoing condition of employment, all Senior Associate faculty will be required to complete additional duties. 5.6.6.1 Hold 2-5 office hours per week depending on credit load and course delivery mode. See 5.6.9. 5.6.6.2 Complete a professional development plan following the same processes and requirements as tenure-track faculty. 5.6.6.3 Participate in program review and improvement. 5.6.6.4 Participate in department, unit, and college-wide meetings.
Senior Associate Faculty. An annual stipend of $2,200 is available in order to promote excellence in teaching and learning and to recognize Senior Associate Faculty who provide a significant contribution to our college. After teaching of greater than or equal to 50% FTEF for nine (9) contiguous quarters or more, excluding summer, associate faculty may apply for Senior Associate Faculty status. Senior Associate faculty perform all duties required of Associate faculty. Senior Associate faculty may receive the stipend provided they submit documentation of participation in the following activities: a. One office hour per week, per course taught. b. Participation in campus or departmental assessment activities. c. Complete a Faculty Self-Assessment tool and create a Professional Development Plan. d. Satisfactory student and peer/administrator evaluations required for most quarters based on the evaluation schedule. e. Participation in three in-services (Part or Full-time) per academic year (for those faculty who teach 76% or more, credit will not be for in-service since those days are already compensated, substitute optional items (*) for the in-service credit). f. Selection of one of the following activities: 1. Participation in the new student advising sessions each quarter, or 2. Observe three (3) associate faculty each quarter, or

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use sick leave credits for family illness or injury only if the employee must provide direct care to an immediate family member. For purposes of family sick leave, “immediate family member” will mean the employee’s parent, spouse, or child, including step-child and ▇▇▇▇▇▇ child.
