Common use of Sediment Control Clause in Contracts

Sediment Control. (1) For new development, the applicant shall design the stormwater management measures to retain soil particles greater than 5 microns on the site (80% reduction) resulting from a one-year 24-hour storm event (2.5 inches over 24-hour duration), according to approved procedures, and assuming no sediment resuspension. (2) For redevelopment resulting in exposed surface parking lots and associated traffic areas, the applicant shall design the stormwater management measures to retain soil particles greater than 20 microns on the entire site (40% reduction) resulting from a one-year 24-hour storm event, according to approved procedures, and assuming no sediment resuspension. Under no circumstances shall the existing sediment control level or trapping efficiency of the site be reduced as a result of the redevelopment.
