Section 9.5.3. 21 The employee will retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation rights, and seniority rights while 22 on leave of absence. However, vacation credits, sick leave, and seniority shall not accrue while 23 the employee is on leave of absence; provided, however, that if such leave is approved for 24 extended illness or injury, seniority shall accrue.

Section 9.5.3. 3 No more than three (3) days of personal leave may be used consecutively, unless approved by the 4 Superintendent or designee at least one month in advance.
Section 9.5.3. 15 The most senior employee in layoff status shall receive preferential consideration regarding recall 16 from layoff to an open position when skill, ability or qualifications are substantially equal to a less 17 senior employee in layoff status. Employees recalled from layoff shall begin, effective with the 18 first day of work in the new assignment, a secondary probationary period of sixty (60) calendar 19 days duration. During the secondary probationary period, the retention of the employee in the 20 newly assigned position shall be solely and entirely at the discretion of the District. If the District 21 determines that the employee is unsuccessful or is likely to be unsuccessful in the assigned 22 position, the employee may be returned to the layoff pool for a possible later assignment according 23 to provisions of this Article.
Section 9.5.3. 19 An employee required to serve on a jury will be paid at their normal rate of pay, except that any 20 pay-except mileage related to required jury duty – received for such jury service shall be 21 returned to the District.
Section 9.5.3. 26 Adoptive leave shall be granted for eligible employees under FMLA guidelines. For 27 employees not eligible for FMLA leave, adoptive leave shall be limited to 15 days in any 12 28 month time period and may be used for court/legal proceedings, home study or other processes 29 related to the adoption of the child as well as care of the child upon placement. Adoptive leave 30 shall be deducted from the employee’s available leave(s).
Section 9.5.3. 41 On September 1 of the first year of service with the District, each employee shall be granted ten 42 (10) workdays vacation per year.

  • Section 11.1 28 The District shall have the right to discipline or discharge an employee for justifiable cause. The issue 29 of justifiable cause shall be resolved in accordance with the grievance procedure hereinafter provided.

  • Section 6.3 27 The workweek shall consist of five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Friday, followed by two (2) 28 consecutive days of rest, Saturday and Sunday except as provided in Section 6.3.1.

  • Section 6.2 13 The Association representatives may represent the Association and employees in meeting with officials 14 of the District to discuss appropriate matters of mutual interest. They may receive and investigate to 15 conclusion complaints or grievances of employees on District time and thereafter advise employees of 16 rights and procedures outlined in this Agreement and applicable regulations or directives for resolving 17 the grievances or complaints. They may not, however, continue to advise the employee on courses of 18 action after the employee has indicated a desire not to pursue a grievance. This does not, however, 19 preclude the Association's right to pursue the matter to conclusion. They may consult with the District 20 on complaints without a grievance being made by an individual employee.
