Common use of Section 1B Clause in Contracts

Section 1B. Applicant Pool - A group of applicants who have been determined to meet the minimum qualifications for a vacant position. Appointing Authority - A person or a group of persons empowered by the Constitution, statute, or executive order to employ persons in, or to make appointments to positions in the civil service. Arbitration - If a grievance has not been satisfactorily resolved after the second step and the Council chooses to arbitrate, an impartial person is selected from a list of people approved by the Council and Minnesota Management and Budget to hear the grievance and render an impartial decision which is binding on the parties. Bargaining Unit Layoff List - An eligible list which allows employees to be recalled to their former class in seniority units other than the one from which they were laid off. See Article 13, Section 8.
