Second Unit Clause Samples
The 'Second Unit' clause defines the role and responsibilities of a secondary film crew, known as the second unit, in a production. This clause typically outlines what types of scenes or shots the second unit is authorized to film, such as action sequences, establishing shots, or inserts, and clarifies the reporting structure and oversight by the main production team. Its core function is to ensure efficient use of production resources by allowing simultaneous filming of supplementary material, thereby streamlining the shooting schedule and reducing overall production time.
Second Unit. Second Unit Directors will be paid no less than the weekly rate applicable to the show for which he or she is employed, or on a daily basis at one-quarter (¼) the applicable weekly rate for each day so employed.
Second Unit. Second Unit means the process of setting up, lighting and photography of action oriented sequences (such as stunt action sequences, including but not limited to car chases and high falls and sequences utilizing geographically inaccessible or undesirable locations for a main unit) which involve a separate camera package, a separate DOP and camera crew, a separate call and a location away from the main unit.
Second Unit. In the event that the Head and/or Crane is used by ▇▇▇▇▇▇’s Second Unit, Lessee will ensure that Cranium Inc. is promptly notified, and that an authorized representative of Second unit Camera and/or Grip departments are properly trained in their use. Specifically, all Crane operators should be made aware of the Crane manufacturer’s load and operation specifications, safe operation and storage, and all rules in the safety manual which accompanies the Crane.
Second Unit. The minimum crewing of Second Units, trailers, talent tests, and promos, shall be at the discretion of the Producer.
Second Unit. The minimum preparation time for a Second Unit Director is one day. However, this preparation time requirement shall not apply to any unplanned units, emergencies or when preparation time is not needed because the Director of the second unit has been working on the production in a different Guild capacity covered by the terms of the BA. The minimum compensation for a Second Unit Director is $1,500 per day.
