School's Intellectual Property Sample Clauses

The "School's Intellectual Property" clause establishes the school's ownership rights over intellectual property created by students, staff, or faculty in connection with school activities or using school resources. Typically, this clause clarifies that inventions, creative works, or other intellectual outputs developed as part of coursework, research, or employment at the school are the property of the institution, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Its core function is to ensure the school can control, protect, and potentially commercialize intellectual property arising from its educational and research environment, thereby preventing disputes over ownership and use.
