Common use of Scent Awareness Clause in Contracts

Scent Awareness. The Theatre and the Artists are encouraged to be sensitive to the needs of their colleagues with respect to scents. For the workplace, an individual is encouraged to use only unscented personal hygiene products (e.g. shampoo and conditioners, deodorants, soaps, lotions, creams) and to avoid wearing perfumes, fragrances, aftershaves or colognes. If an individual is concerned about scents or perfumes used by another individual in the workplace, they are encouraged to discuss his/her concerns directly with that individual in a sensitive and discreet manner. If such a one-to-one discussion is not possible, the Artist should bring his/her concern to a Theatre representative. Once the matter is brought to the attention of the Theatre’s representative it is the Theatre’s responsibility to attempt a resolution.
