Safety Markings. All collection vehicles and equipment used by 1879 CONTRACTOR shall have appropriate safety markings including, but not limited to, highway 1880 lighting, flashing and warning lights, clearance lights, and warning flags. All such safety 1881 markings shall be subject to the approval of the TOWN and shall be in accordance with the 1882 requirements of the California Vehicle Code, as may be amended from time to time. 1884 reserve equipment used on a temporary basis, shall be painted and numbered 1885 consecutively without repetition and shall have CONTRACTOR's name, CONTRACTOR’S 1886 customer service telephone number, and the number of the collection vehicle painted in 1887 letters of contrasting color, at least three (3) inches high, on each side and the rear of each 1888 collection vehicle. 1889 12.01.6.1 No advertising shall be permitted other than the name 1890 of CONTRACTOR except promotional advertisement of the Recyclable Material, Organics 1891 programs, and/or other programs approved by TOWN. 1892 12.01.6.2 CONTRACTOR shall repaint all collection vehicles 1893 (including collection vehicles striping) during the term of this Agreement on a frequency as 1894 necessary to maintain a positive public image as reasonably determined by the Town 1895 Representative. 1896 12.01.7 Collection Vehicle Noise Level. All Collection Service and Street 1897 Sweeping operations shall be conducted as quietly as possible and must comply with U.S. 1898 EPA noise emission regulations, currently codified at 40 CFR Part 205, and other applicable 1899 State, County and Town noise control regulations. 1900 12.01.8 In the event of an on-route breakdown, CONTRACTOR may utilize a 1901 temporary backup vehicle without the prior written consent of the Town Representative, but 1902 must verbally inform the Town Representative of any such on-route breakdown and 1903 timeframe for the use of a temporary collection vehicle.
