Routine Official control samples. The laboratory shall act as the official laboratory providing official control microbiological testing to all other local authorities with which the Authority has a service contract. Analysis shall be carried out taking the relevant legislative requirements, historical analysis results, guidelines and/or protocols into account. The Official Agency shall liaise with all other Local Authorities regarding official food control sampling and provide an analysis service for them where practical. To assist in national coordination, the Official Agency shall: In conjunction with the Authority organise an annual meeting to agree an annual national sampling plan for the following year. Prepare and agree, in conjunction with the Authority, an annual national sampling plan for Local Authorities (that is risk-based and informed by analysis of historical lab results) and provides, as far as is practicable, an equivalent level of official control sampling at each establishment inspected by Local Authorities. Maintain a LIMS system for the recording, reporting and exporting data regarding laboratory samples analysis Extract individual sample analysis results from the LIMS and transmit these to the Authority daily as soon as the sample records in the LIMS are authorised, in accordance with the agreed transmission specification. The specifics of the LIMS data transmission shall be agreed in a controlled document defining content, format, frequency and transmission mechanism. Collaborate with the Authority to produce an annual summary report of the sampling plan results and circulate to Local Authorities with whom the Authority has a service contract and other official control stakeholders. Arrange that frequency of sampling is based on the nature and size of the establishment’s throughput, product type and history of samples analysis. Undertake analysis in accordance with the national Local Authority sampling plan and as part of agreed focused surveys, taking into account the relevant legislative requirements, guidelines and/or protocols. The timing and delivery of samples shall be agreed at local level.
