Common use of Route Vacancies Clause in Contracts

Route Vacancies. All vacancies shall be posted five (5) days prior to permanent filling and the driver applicant with the most seniority shall fill the vacancy. In an effort to avoid so called "domino effect" only a total of three drivers, based on seniority, will be permitted to fill vacancies occurring as a result of an employee's termination, retirement, etc. or as a result of adding additional runs after the beginning of the school year.

If a vacancy becomes available during the summer, the position shall be filled based on seniority.
