Common use of RIF Clause in Contracts

RIF. If the Board decides that a Reduction of personnel becomes necessary, the Board shall accomplish the reduction through normal attrition. Should further reduction be necessary, the administrative staff will determine the educational program needed for the students in accordance with the educational goals established by the Board. The number of teachers needed to implement the district's educational program will then be determined by the administrative staff based on those educational goals. The following will then apply in a random order (but not limited to) in determining the additional staff reduction; -years of service, -individual certification, -evaluations, -training, and -skills. Should a RIF occur, a teacher employed with the district with a minimum of 15 years of service in the district will be reimbursed for leave and service, the same as a person at retirement.
