Responsibilities of Council of Ministers. The Council of Ministers would be responsible for: • appointing the members of the board of directors and the adjudicative tribunal; • providing oversight on policy for capital markets regulation and receiving and considering required reports from the board of directors; • proposing amendments to provincial legislation and the complementary federal legislation; • approving regulations made by the board of directors; and • requesting the board to consider making a regulation on a specific matter, subject to the consultation and approval processes that apply to the making of regulations.
