Required Observations. During each school year all classroom teachers shall be observed for the purposes of evaluation at least twice in the performance of their assigned duties. The total annual observation time shall not be less than sixty (60) minutes. An employee in the third year of provisional status as defined in RCW 28A.405.220 shall be observed at least three times in the performance of his or her duties and the total observation time for the school year shall not be less than ninety (90) minutes. The evaluator may conduct and/or the teacher may request additional formal observations.
Required Observations. Prior to the completion of the Evaluation Report, each employee shall be observed for the purpose of evaluation at least twice in the performance of his/her assigned duties. Total annual observation time for each employee shall be not less than sixty (60) minutes. New employees shall be observed at least once for a total observation time of thirty (30) minutes during the first ninety (90) calendar days of the employment period. Observations must be at least thirty (30) continuous minutes. If requested by the employee, the goals and objectives of the individual being evaluated will be discussed in advance of at least the first observation by the evaluee and the evaluator. The time for the first observation shall be mutually agreed upon. All evaluations shall be based solely upon the criteria contained within this Agreement. Within the evaluation, the principal/supervisor may reference any prior discipline/action that would relate directly to a recurrent problem observed within a particular criteria so long as the employee has previously had opportunity to exercise his/her just cause rights under Part III, Section 2, in regard to the referenced disciplinary action. Required Conferences: Following each formal observation or observation in which critical incidents or other major deficiencies are noted, the observing evaluator shall promptly document the results of the observation. A copy of the Observation Report shall be given the employee within three (3) days after preparation or eight (8) working days after the observation, whichever is less. At this time, a post-observation conference between the observing administrator and the employee will be held when requested by either party. Evaluation Procedures:
Required Observations. Employees shall be observed for the purpose of evaluation at least two (2) times in the performance of their teaching assignment during the school year. One of the two required observations shall be at least thirty (30) minutes in length and the total of all observations shall not be less than sixty (60) minutes. A thirty (30) minute observation shall be predetermined by the evaluator and the employee at least one (1) workday in advance of the observation. All employees shall be observed at least once for a total observation time of thirty (30) minutes by December 1 of each school year. In the event the employee or evaluator is not present near December 1st and the evaluation timeline becomes impossible, it shall be completed as soon as possible thereafter. Following such observation, the evaluator shall promptly document the results of the observation in writing on Classroom Observation Form (see Appendix C1-C5) and shall provide the employee with a copy thereof and meet to discuss within three (3) working days after such a report is prepared, and in no case later that five (5) working days after the observation, unless otherwise agreed upon by the employee and administrator.
