Representative sampling Sample Clauses

The Representative Sampling clause defines the process by which a subset of items, data, or products is selected to reflect the characteristics of a larger group for purposes such as inspection, testing, or quality assurance. In practice, this clause outlines the criteria for choosing samples, the size of the sample group, and the methods used to ensure that the sample accurately represents the whole. By establishing clear guidelines for sampling, the clause helps ensure that conclusions drawn from the sample are reliable and that parties can efficiently assess compliance or quality without examining every item, thereby saving time and resources while minimizing disputes over representativeness.
Representative sampling. Samples and measurements taken for the purpose of monitoring shall be representative of the monitored activity.
Representative sampling. Samples and measurements taken as required herein shall be representative of the volume and nature of the monitored discharge. All samples shall be taken at the compliance sampling point(s) specified in this Permit. All equipment used for sampling and analysis must be routinely calibrated and inspected and maintained to ensure their accuracy. The Permittee shall ensure that records of routine equipment calibrations, maintenance activities and inspections are maintained.
Representative sampling. Samples and measurements taken to meet the requirements of any conditions in this permit shall be representative of the volume and nature of the monitored discharge and shall be collected and preserved in accordance with 40 CFR Part 136 and amendments. Alternative procedures must have City approval prior to use.
Representative sampling. The City shall analyze representative samples of the soil for the parameters listed in Appendix A. Soil may be sampled either in-situ or ex-situ. Ex-situ samples shall be collected at a frequency of no less than one sample for each 750 cubic yards, or fraction thereof, of soil or mixtures of soil and rubble that will be reused under this Agreement. The following minimum sampling requirements shall also apply: a. A minimum of one sample shall be collected from each site; and b. A minimum of one sample shall be collected from each significantly different soil type encountered during excavation.
