Reporting Incident. A. Any case of assault upon a teacher shall be promptly reported, in writing, to his/her building administrator. If a bargaining unit member is required to attend a legal procedure related to such incident, the member shall be granted paid leave for that purpose provided the bargaining unit member did not commit unprofessional conduct. Bargaining unit members acting within the scope of their employment responsibilities with respect to maintaining control and discipline of students shall be given support and assistance by the District. B. Any case of assault upon a staff member arising out of the performance of the staff member’s professional responsibilities at school or school sponsored functions shall be promptly reported to the Board or its designated representative. Student placement will occur only after a safety plan has been put into place to protect staff to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
