Reporting Incident. A. Any case of assault upon a teacher shall be promptly reported, in writing, to his/her building administrator. If a bargaining unit member is required to attend a legal procedure related to such incident, the member shall be granted paid leave for that purpose. Bargaining unit members acting within the scope of their employment responsibilities with respect to maintaining control and discipline of students shall be given support and assistance by the District. B. Any case of assault upon a staff member arising out of the performance of the staff member’s professional responsibilities at school or school sponsored functions shall be promptly reported to the Board or its designated representative. Student placement will occur only after a safety plan has been put into place to protect staff to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

If a bargaining unit member is required to attend a legal procedure related to such incident, the member shall be granted paid leave for that purpose provided the bargaining unit member did not commit unprofessional conduct. Bargaining unit members acting within the scope of their employment responsibilities with respect to maintaining control and discipline of students shall be given support and assistance by the District. B. Any case of assault upon a staff member arising out of the performance of the staff member’s professional responsibilities at school or school sponsored functions shall be promptly reported to the Board or its designated representative. Reporting Incident. ‌ The Injured Teacher must report the incident to the police or county attorney and to the District Superintendent as soon as the Injured Teacher is physically able to do so. Paragraph 6: Accumulation:‌ The Injured Teacher shall be eligible for the leave during the period of time in which the Injured Teacher is physically totally disabled from performing his/her duties as a teacher for the District. Paragraph 2: Salary:‌ The salary paid to the Injured Teacher during the period of leave shall be reduced by any and all other sums paid to the Injured Teacher for such period of disability, including but not limited to worker’s compensation, disability insurance and wage continuation insurance of any kind (hereinafter ‘Benefits’).
