REPORT-IN AND CALL-IN WORK Sample Clauses

The REPORT-IN AND CALL-IN WORK clause defines the employer's obligations when employees are required to report to work or are called in outside of their regular schedule. Typically, this clause specifies minimum compensation or guaranteed hours for employees who report to work as requested but are not provided with their usual amount of work, or who are called in unexpectedly. For example, if an employee is called in for a shift and sent home early due to lack of work, they may still be entitled to a minimum number of paid hours. The core function of this clause is to protect employees from lost wages due to unpredictable scheduling and to encourage employers to schedule work more reliably.
REPORT-IN AND CALL-IN WORK. Section 18.1. Any employee, who accepts an authorized request to work during hours outside his regularly scheduled time, excluding court duty, shall be paid in the following manner after reporting to his regular work assignment. A. An employee called while at home and required to begin work at the Jail at a time disconnected from his regular shift by more than one (1) hour shall be guaranteed a minimum of two (2) hours’ work at the applicable rate of pay for such work in addition to his regularly scheduled shift pay; and B. An employee requested to begin work at the Jail anytime within the one (1) hour immediately preceding the start of his regular shift shall be paid only for the time actually worked.
REPORT-IN AND CALL-IN WORK. SECTION 1. Any employee who accepts an authorized request to work during hours outside his regularly scheduled time, excluding court duty, shall be paid in the following manner after reporting to his regular work assignment: A. An employee called, while at home, and required to begin work any time more than one (1) hour prior to his regularly scheduled shift, shall be guaranteed a minimum of two (2) hours pay at the appropriate rate of pay for such work in addition to his regularly scheduled shift pay. B. An employee enroute to work in his assigned departmental vehicle, who is called on the vehicle radio, at any time over one (1) hour prior to the starting time of the employee's regular shift, and requested to perform duties outside his regularly scheduled shift, shall be guaranteed two (2) hours pay at the appropriate rate of pay for such work in addition to his regularly scheduled shift pay. C. An employee requested to begin work anytime within one (1) hour immediately preceding the start of his regular shift, shall be paid at the appropriate rate of pay only for the time actually worked. D. When a bargaining unit member is called back to work by a supervisor for hours not abutting his regular shift hours, he shall be paid a minimum of three (3) hours at the appropriate rate of pay. This provision shall apply to members called in for off-duty court appearances and to departmental meetings. This minimum call-in guarantee shall be paid at one and one-half (1½) times the member's regular rate of pay when the member is thereby placed in overtime status. All report-in and call-in work, which is in addition to the employee’s regular schedule, must have prior authorization of the Employer or his designee.
REPORT-IN AND CALL-IN WORK. SECTION 1. An employee who is called in to work outside his normal work shift shall be paid the applicable shift differential and one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular rate of pay. A. There shall be a minimum of three (3) hours per call-in, providing call-in is three (3) hours prior to normal work shift. B. Additional time beyond the period already compensated will be paid at the appropriate rate without an additional minimum. SECTION 2. Any member who accepts a request by the Employer to work during hours outside his/her regularly scheduled straight-time hours on the day in question shall only be paid for the actual hours worked at the applicable rate of pay, where such additional hours abut his/her regularly scheduled straight-time shift hours on that day. At the discretion of the supervisor upon the request of the employee, an employee called in before the start of his/her regularly scheduled shift may be excused from the balance of his/her regular shift without using accumulated leave time.
