Replacement Contract. A. When the Board of Education approves a leave of absence for a period of six (6) months or more, the Board of Education will post a “Vacancy for ReplacementContract” for the expected leave period. The person hired for such replacement position shall be granted full benefits of the Bargaining Unit. A person hired exclusively for the purpose of replacing a non-teaching school Employee while such Employee is on leave of absence, granted under (O.R.C. 3319.13) shall not be considered a regular non-teaching school Employee. B. Upon the return of an Employee from leave, the Board of Education may terminate the employment of a person hired for the purpose of replacing the returning Employee while he/she was on leave. C. If after the return of an Employee from leave, the person employed for the purpose of replacing an Employee on leave is continued in employment as a regular Employee, or if he/she is hired by the Board of Education as regular Employee within one (1) year after his/her employment as a replacement, he/she shall receive credit for his/her length of service with the Board of Education during such replacement. D. Replacement contract will be granted up to one (1) year only, renewable if the person on leave does not return.
