Released Code Clause Samples

The "Released Code" clause defines the terms under which software code is made available to parties outside the original development team or organization. Typically, this clause outlines what portions of the code are considered "released," the conditions for such release (such as open source licensing or distribution to clients), and any restrictions or obligations that accompany the released code, such as attribution or limitations on use. Its core practical function is to clarify the rights and responsibilities associated with the distribution and use of the code, thereby preventing misunderstandings or disputes over intellectual property and usage rights.
