Related Training. 140.0 Each apprentice shall be required during the period of this apprentice program, to complete a program of related and supplemental classroom instructions not to exceed 672 hours during a four-year training course, less the amount of related training for which the apprentice received credit pursuant to Paragraph 127.0. The Local Apprentice Committee may recommend increasing related training for specific classifications. 141.0 Time spent by the apprentice in connection with related training shall not be considered time worked under this Agreement; nevertheless, time spent by the apprentice in taking required related training shall be paid for at the apprentice's straight time hourly rate.

Related Training. Each apprentice shall be required to take approved related and general courses for a minimum of one hundred and forty-four (144) hours each year. The amount of time devoted to each subject and the sequence they are to follow will depend upon the type of work being performed by the apprentice in plant. Related Training. After the initial thirty (30) days of employment, the employer and the Union will evaluate the tradesman and jointly determine what related training will need to be completed in each of the two (2) stages of this program. Where the residential tradesman fails to complete the agreed upon training at each step, that individual will be held at that stage until that training is successfully completed, but in no case for more than one (1) calendar year. If the training is not completed in that year, then the individual’s employment must be terminated. This related training is not limited to the normal apprentice training: it can be customized to fit each residential tradesman’s needs. The residential tradesman shall not count as an apprentice or journeyman in the ratios provided herein.
Related Training. The City Administrative Procedure for job related training provides for a payment advance of 50% of the cost of tuition and required books for a class which costs $200 or more to enroll.
