Reducing Hours. The Hospital will follow Section 11.4(C) with regard to 14 International Nurses, and will not force bargaining unit nurses to have 15 scheduled hours reduced in favor of International Nurses, but a bargaining 16 unit nurse may reduce her/his hours voluntarily.
Reducing Hours. If an employee requests to decrease her/his hours and the operational needs of the local department will continue to be met by the reduction, then the following process will take place: The matter may be discussed between management and appropriate department members. The position will be posted within the local department as a 1 day bid and be awarded based on the criteria set forth in Article X – Posting and Filling Positions.

When adjusting schedule(s) and hours to accommodate program funding reduction, the following steps shall apply: Building principals will develop a proposed schedule revision based on funding change and student needs (i.e. academic needs, safety, etc.) to be submitted to the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning (ED) Elementary, Secondary, or Special Services, as appropriate to review and approve. The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, Elementary, Secondary, or Special Services will convene a meeting with the Association, Human Resources, and other appropriate staff to review the building proposal. Recommendations resulting from the meeting(s) will be fully considered by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, Elementary, Secondary, or Special Services who, in consultation with the building principal, will provide an approved schedule change.
