Recurring Part. Time Position means a position in which:

(i) the duties are of a recurring nature from year to year; and
(ii) the incumbent is assigned professional support responsibilities of not fewer than eighteen (18) hours per week but fewer than full-time; and
(iii) the period worked is not fewer than thirty-two weeks but not more than forty-two (42) weeks, inclusive of vacation, annually. For greater certainty, the annual duration of a recurring part-time position, shall not exceed forty- two
Recurring Part time (OP or FT) Employees who work fourteen (14) hours or more per week shall be paid in addition to the Employee’s basic hourly rate, three percent (3%) of that hourly rate for all hours worked in lieu of benefits.
Recurring Part time, Casual and Student Employees shall be given reasonable notice of shift changes and shifts shall not be withheld for arbitrary or unreasonable reasons. The Parties acknowledge that Recurring Part-time, Casual and Student Employees have no guaranteed hours of work, however, an Employee who has not been scheduled to work for more than one (1) month may request a written explanation from their immediate Supervisor. The Supervisor shall provide a written explanation within ten (10) work days.
Recurring Part time Employees who work an average of fourteen (14) hours or more per week over a four (4) month period (January 1 to April 30; May 1 to August 31; September 1 to December 31) shall be paid in addition to the Employee’s basic hourly rate, two percent (2%) of that hourly rate for all hours worked during that period in lieu of benefits.
