The "Ranges" clause defines the acceptable upper and lower limits for certain variables or quantities within an agreement. In practice, this clause might specify permissible ranges for prices, delivery times, or product specifications, ensuring that both parties understand the boundaries within which performance or obligations must fall. Its core function is to provide clarity and prevent disputes by clearly outlining the limits of acceptable performance or outcomes.
Ranges. A. Psychiatric Technicians and Senior Psychiatric Technicians who provide proof of appropriate credit and meet performance eligibility criteria as required by the Department of State Hospitals, the Department of Developmental Services and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Range B/C, and CCHCS eligibility policy dated September 20, 1988, shall be appointed to the alternate ranges as specified below. Such appointments shall not be unreasonably denied.
Ranges. The District will create and maintain salary ranges for positions in this group (See Appendix B - Salary Ranges). For the 2020-21 contract year the salary ranges will be increased by 1.77%. For the 2021-22 contract year the salary ranges will be increased by 1.88%. The District will also meet and confer with representatives from this group on the placement of employees within the ranges and annual movement though the ranges. This movement through the ranges will be calculated by the District and function similarly to step movement in other groups. Employees with a performance rating below meets standards or on a corrective action plan will not be eligible for additional movement. In the event that a current employee’s salary is outside the newly established ranges, the District’s calculations will over time to move the salary to be within the range.

For the 2022-23 work year, the salary ranges will be increased by 2.0% on the top step and people will be placed on the appropriate step that produces an increase from their 2021- 22 salary rates, including 5 and 10-year career increments. The District will also meet and confer with representatives from this group on the placement of employees within the ranges and annual movement through the ranges. Schedule A, paragraph 5 of the 2016 – 2018 Agreement is amended to read as follows:
Ranges. The ranges for each category of employment covered by this Agreement shall be as set forth in Schedule A attached hereto and made a part hereof. 1. The Board agrees to increase the 2005-2006 expiring minimum salary levels for each administrative range by $3,000 to which 4.25% shall be applied to arrive at the minimum salary level for the first year of this Agreement. For the second year of this Agreement, the minimum for each range shall equal a 4.25% increase over that which existed in the first year. For the third year of this Agreement, the minimum for each range shall equal a 4.00% increase over that which existed in the second year. 2. The Association agrees that in adjusting the ranges at each administrative level every effort will be made to minimize the increases in the maximum salary of the new ranges.
